Is it legal to shoot someone if they reach into your vehicle to harm you?

I think it varies from state to state. Some states view the vehicle as an extension of the home, so I think that makes it legal. This is a borderline guess.

Depends on the jurisdiction and if your fear of death and/or great/imminent bodily harm was reasonable.

OP, do yourself a favor and call a lawyer. Depends on several factors. For example, LA your car is an extension of your home, but if its a dude leaning thru your window with no gun/knife/blunt object, and you shoot him, then enjoy honey buns, orang flip flogs and a jumpsuit.
