I have had PS1-3. but I am leaning towards getting the xbox due to the pass through technology with the cable and satv. what about gaming? what are some of the main differences between the two, besides the controller? What console has the best games out right now? I am not a hard core gamer but dove love some first person shooters and the popular sports games. I'm sure there area many threads on this topic, but just looking for some quick advice. TIA

PS4 has the best Holiday deal so far, so if you're looking for a great deal as well, probably not gonna find a better one.

Depends on the number of friends you have on either console. If you have more on one than the other, that's the one you get. If you don't care about that then I'd go with the PS4. I have both and I think the PS4 is the better gaming machine even though I don't play it very much.

so basically what I got from that "thread" get one your friends have and that the PS4 gaming is better but the Xbone multimedia is batter. Am I right? FWW I am probably 50/50 with buddies who have ps4 or xbox.

Pretty much. After that you can look at exclusives but the game you want are on both usually.

Gaming wise they do the same shite. PS4 has a little more power but games are optimized for each system separately so the differences are marginal at best.

Get what your friends have or which ever one has the few exclusives you want to play.

I think I am leaning PS4 then. I feel like I need to stay loyal to my brand. That PS4 combo deal looked pretty good too. Nobody has convinced me to switch.

I'm still confused on how the gaming is better on the ps4. Maybe graphics idk I can't tell a difference. But I can say the extra features on the Xbox makes my gaming experience better. I love being able to talk to the xbox/tv. Xbox record that is cool feature and snapping tv and other apps improves the gaming experience for me.

Like someone said most games are on both but right now Xbox has halo, sunset overdrive, and forza.

Are the multimedia benefits that much of a difference? Is connect useful and fun or just a gimmick?

I have played, or attempted to play the jet ski connect game. It was damn near impossible to play and control. I'm sure it would get easier, but for any mainstream game is the connect used?

Kinect
I've never played a game with motions but use it to control the tv(channel, volume, power) and Xbox(switch between games/apps and snap stuff ) which makes the gaming experience a little more fun l.

is there a place you can rent an entire console for like a week as a test drive? that would be nice.

Yeah, you're not going to beat that deal. Over $120 off what that would normally cost.

And more people are liking the PS4 than the One, so that tells you a lot. Sales aren't close, and the people on here that own both prefer the PS4.
