Adrian Peterson's attorney, Rusty Hardin, made it clear that Peterson hopes to be playing for the Vikings when they come out of their bye Week 11 against the Bears. Peterson wants the NFL to move quickly in deciding whether Peterson will be suspended or reinstated immediately. And that's fair for Peterson to ask. "I’m hoping that can be done quickly and I’m hoping the NFL is receptive to it," Hardin said. "It’s time for him to go back and play football." The league has to this point declined to provide a timetable for Peterson. But all of his legal matters are resolved. The next step is football. Peterson needs to be owned in all formats.

Can't they give him 6 games under the new domestic violence policy?

If he comes back I will head into the playoffs with Charles, McCoy, and AP. The three highest ranked players coming into the season

From what I've read, I don't know if they can because of what he actually pleaded to. And if so, it should probably be time served. I never underestimate Goodell and they might do something just because or the PR nightmare they've faced this year.

Just not sure it holds water.

He's been paid this entire time, right?

I don't really care enough to look that deeply into the policy, it just seems that he hasn't really been penalized. Sure he's been crucified in the media, but he hasn't actually been punished by the NFL yet.

Frick... My last opponent to make me 7-6 had an good team. AP would make it way too close for comfort in Week 14...

Me neither. I am definitely just speculating based on what I've read.

There's 3 options for him

He gets reinstated and plays next week. Probably unlikely.

He gets reinstated and the NFL agrees that his 8 games he has missed counts toward his suspension. But will end up paying a fine of the amount of money he made during those 8 weeks as his punishment. Likely

He gets suspended for 6 weeks with no pay and sits out till week 15. Likely as well.

Also remember Goodell is speaking in the Ray Rice case in New York at the moment so it could take over a week until he actually makes a decision on Peterson.
