I need a water well drilled on a piece of property in St. Amant. After googling around it seems there is only one guy who does this in the area. Sure enough the same guy just dug a well down the road a little bit.

I wanted a quote from him and he said I would have to go down 460' and it would cost $3,300 which would include pump and storage tank.

Does anyone know anyone who does this in BR area. I would hate to take this guys quote without seeing if it's reasonable.

$3300 for 460'? What size well? If that is a 4 or 5" casing, that is a good price.

Wouldn't hurt to call and ask. I'm pretty sure they did some residential work for a family member a few years back.

I used a guy in Kentwood. Gills water wells. They did a good job but it was like pulling teeth to get them to show up when there was an issue..

I drilled one once and hit oil. It was cheaper than leasing. Making big bucks.

I'm not saying the price is bad. I'm just wanting to get a second opinion to see if the 460' depth is the correct depth or if it's overkill

I'd call Gill back and just ask them what they think of the number. Even if they don't service the area they would know if it's about right.

You should call Gills back and ask him why he does not like $3000+.

Search on DNR GIS database for residential wells in area, should show dates drilled, use, total depth, screen interval, etc.

Stop by sorrento lumber and ask for mr jerry, he used to be in that biz an knows more about wells than anybody in the parish, tell him what you are doing and what you have been quoted and he will lead you in the right direction

I have one on a piece of property I bought and tried this website and just could not locate it. Any other places to look? Maybe I'm just not that good with this site. I'd like to know when it was drilled and the depth

It's not a intuitive site...if the original driller didn't fill out a registration form it wont be in the database. Send me the lat/lon of the property and I'll take a look
