Potential triple loss in the Maine Governor's election

Paul LePage, a very, very, very conservative tea party guy, appears to have held on to the governorship in Maine. LePage is one of those in-your-face guys people either love or hate. So losing to him again is a brutal loss for the Democrats in Maine. The second loss is not a Democratic loss, but an LGBT loss. Michaud would have been the first gay man elected to a Governorship in the United States, a cause for celebration for that group and their supporters. They must be disappointed. And the third loss is not yet definite, but Michaud vacated his safe Democratic House seat to run for Governor, and in a yet-to-be-called race, a Republican has a 3 point lead to take that Democratic seat. A lot of unhappy liberals in Maine tonight if the LePage and Poliquin leads hold up.

It could be a quadruple hit if An(g)us King decides to caucus with Republicans.
He's be a total RINO of he did, but it would have to stick in the craw of the Dems in Maine.

It would have been a significant event, regardless of the degree of importance one assigns it. It's worthy of note because it would have been a "first" in national politics. No more, no less.
