I'm not a big political follower, just wondering if there has ever been such a landslide party win as big as today?

I am talking all major races, Governors, Senate, etc

If the republicans hold Obama off and tackle only economic issues, they will set themselves up for total success.

1994 was even more stunning, actually.

Significant but there has been worse to the benifits of both sides.

I don't know but it feels a hell a lot better than election night of 2012.

Because of MSNBC it's more hysterical than historical.

I don't think so for the Senate (and definitely not the House) - it's pretty big but not historic.

The real bloodbath was at the State level. The Republicans have absolutely dominated gubernatorial races and state legislature races. I don't recall anything to this degree at the state level in any recent history.

Pretty much every time a president is in his 6th year except Clinton. Bush lost 6 Senators, 31 House members and 6 governors.

Par for the course my arse. "Enough" is what the minority said in this county tonight.

The 47% was too busy out spending their dimes, while the real people of this country decided the fate.

You and the 47% are just too stupid to realize that. Go wait by the mailbox to get your next check.

Not as historic or lasting as a few on the board seem to believe.

Worst senate defeat since the 1950s.

It's not.

I was barely listening to George Will talking about something to do with a +3 shift in the senate not happening since 1980. That seems wrong, but it had something to do with a two seat shift being significant. Was hoping someone could clarify.

You are correct. And I know you'll be happy to know I settled a case at 6:45 pm.

1994

GOP gained 54 House seats and 8 Senate seats. First GOP House majority since 1952.
