First time in 120 years an incumbent gov, of the presidents party, has lost the president's state.

You can thank Obama for this!

Proud to say I contributed to helping Rauner get over 20% in Chicago
ETA: watching local election coverage- Quinn is not conceding, they think there are hundreds of thousands of votes in Cook County that haven't been counted.

Four years ago, Quinn won only 3 out of 102 counties.
Quinn wins only 3 counties out of 102, but wins election
The big one is Cook, which is Chicago.

Local news is saying Quinn refuses to concede tonight.
And a reporter just asked Rauner's campaign manager if people should be "leery" of Rauner because he spent so much money to win office. Wtf does that have to do with anything?

Proud to call you a fellow Cook County voter
I wonder how many graves were needlessly exhumed today...

In other words, looking for ways to commit voter fraud

Quinn just went up on the podium and says he isn't yielding to a result until all the votes are in. Rauner about to speak.

That's awesome that IL went GOP - a lot of people on here said it wasn't possible.
IL is probably the state which most needs fiscal discipline right now.
