Of course we're all rooting for LSU to win out and then most likely play in one of the big "access" bowls (Cotton, Peach, Fiesta, Orange) or CitrusBowl at worst, but if we don't win out the bowls in bold are LSU's most likely bowl destinations.

Reference: Advocate LSU Bowl Possibilities (I disagree with the couple of Outback predictions... While possible, I think it is highly unlikely we go to the Outback two years in a row)

SEC CHAMPIONSHIP
12/6/14 - Atlanta, Georgia - ($100)

REGULAR BOWLS:

INDEPENDENCE BOWL
12/27/14 - Shreveport, La. ($45, $50)
vs ACC

LIBERTY BOWL
12/29/14 - Memphis, Tenn. ($85)
vs Big12

TEXAS BOWL
12/29/14 - Houston, Tex. ($85, $125)
vs Big12

BELK BOWL
12/30/14 - Charlotte, NC ($92, $129)
vs ACC

MUSIC CITY BOWL
12/30/14 - Nashville, Tenn. ($85,$120)
vs ACC/Big10

CITRUS BOWL (former Cap1 bowl)
1/1/15 - Orlando, Fla. ($65-$150)
vs Big10/ACC

OUTBACK BOWL
1/1/15 - Tampa, Florida ($80, Club $170)
vs Big10

TAXSLAYER (GATOR) BOWL
1/2/15 - Jacksonville, Florida ($85, $125)
vs Big10/ACC

BBVA COMPASS BOWL
1/3/15 - Birmingham, Ala. ($50)

ACCESS/PLAYOFF BOWLS:

PEACH BOWL
12/31/14 - Atlanta, Georgia ($50, $150, $250)

ORANGE BOWL
12/31/14 - Miami Gardens, Florida - ($75 - $235)

FIESTA BOWL
12/31/14 - Glendale, Arizona ($150-$300)

COTTON BOWL
1/1/15 - Arlington, Texas ($150, Club $240)

ROSE BOWL (CFP Semifinal)
1/1/15 - Pasadena, California ($175)

SUGAR BOWL (CFP SEMIFINAL)
1/1/15 - New Orleans, La.($175, $250)

CFP NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP
1/12/15 - Arlington, Texas (TBA)

A few important notes about the new bowl selection process:

-The Orange Bowl is now the Capital One Orange Bowl. (not to be confused with the old Capital One Bowl in Orlando)......

-The old Capital One Bowl in Orlando is now the Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl.

-After the 6 huge "access" bowls (2 playoff semifinal bowls + Cotton/Peach/Fiesta/Orange) have made their selections, the Citrus Bowl is guaranteed the next best SEC team.

-After that, these 6 bowls are next... in NO particular order: Belk, Outback, Music City, TaxSlayerGator, Liberty, Texas Bowl. The SEC will choose all six of these selections in an effort to give all of these games a good matchup.

-If there are any bowl-eligible SEC teams left after the above slots are filled, they would go to the Independence or Birmingham Bowl.

LSU will likely be playing in one of the bowls listed below. Hard to get excited about.

BELK BOWL
12/30/14 - Charlotte, NC ($92, $129)
vs ACC

MUSIC CITY BOWL

If we don't make one of the bigger bowls, are we at the mercy of the SEC head office when it comes to our bowl destination?

Independence Bowl is likely already off the table. LSU has already worked itself above Independence/Compass. Not to mention it's possible the SEC may not even have enough bowl-eligible teams to fill its slots in Independence/Compass.

And you left off Gator, which IMO is our most likely destination. I predict we end up in Gator or Texas Bowl.

-CFB playoff...likely 1-2 SEC teams
-Access non-playoff bowls...likely 2 SEC teams
-Citrus bowl...1 SEC team

Below that, the SEC decides on Outback, Taxslayer, MusicCity, Liberty, Texas and Belk as one big group. This year there is supposedly no "pecking order" in those games, it will just be the SEC trying to put together the best matchups in those 6 games. The idea here is to make all of those bowls "equal" so-to-speak.

If the SEC has more than 10/11 bowl-eligible teams, then the Independence/Compass will be filled after the above 6 are filled. At this point, it looks unlikely LSU - or any SEC team for that matter - ends up in the Independence or Compass Bowls.

We all know that the SEC hasn't exactly been kind to LSU in the past when it comes to bowl selection. Given the fact that our fans traveled so poorly to our last 2 bowl games, I will be surprised if Gump Central in Birmingham doesn't send us to the shittiest bowl possible.

Of course, I'm hoping that we can win out and take that ability out of their hands.

I think we're going Texas/Liberty/Gator if we don't win out.

If we win out, we're headed to one of the big bowls (Orange/Cotton/Peach/Fiesta)
