Holy burning bag of cow shite that was one of the worst movies I have ever seen in my life. Is it really getting to the point where they think all it takes is an abstract idea for a movie, add a hot actress and Morgan Freeman, and it'll be a hit? Plot was shite. Ending was worse. The only good things about it were SJ and it was less than 90 minutes long.

It was not good but I've seen many movies that were way worse

I've watched this movie as well, and I have a hard time believing that there are Many movies that are Way worse than this one. It got painful there at the end.

Wolf man
Legion
Don Jon
Mad Max
Waterworld
Actually that's all I can think of right now. I know my Mad Max condemnation will rustle jimmies, but I really hated that movie. I guess I'd put Lucy at the same level of Waterworld as both being movies that started off interestingly.

I lost complete faith by the part where the asian drug lord tells the young asian mob guy to "do something" in the big gun fight, so he picks up a bazooka, and does a power knee slide 10 feet down the hall and blows the door open.

I hated the tired premise of using 100% of the brain, and I never understood why any brain could defy the laws of physics. Even still, it was where she started reading cell phone radio waves or whatever the hell she did that I had enough. The ending was terrible, but it was the kind of movie where there just wasnt going to be a satisfactory ending. A big problem is she never had a real nemesis.

Just finished watching it. Holy shite, that movie sucked arse.

My review from October.
Wow. I don't even know where to start. Setting aside the rapid evolution, does ANYTHING make sense in this movie?
Was Walter's Crystal Blue a recreational drug or did they know from the start it could be used for rapid evolution? Doesn't seem like they knew or they would have taken better care of it instead of sending half zonked mules to ship it.
Who actually made the crap and what was the whole point of the opening 20 minutes? That whole drug delivery scene made no sense and seemed bizarre just for the sake of the movie.
If it was just a drug that was going to be sold and cut for European kids, then why did the Korean go so batshit bonkers, taking on the cops over such a small batch of the crap?
Couldn't he make more or just buy more? Why did Lucy keep leaving some bad guys alive when she had zero problem killing bad or even innocent people?
If she was so smart and could track everything, why not kill the bad guys? If she was so smart and could do almost anything, why couldn't she just synthesize the drug herself?
The direction was horrible ( silly flashing back and forth with wildlife). The dialog was painful at times.
I liked the core concept, but damn the movie was poorly executed. I seem to recall people saying to stay away but I was bored

My review from way back

Top 5 worst movie ever. Sucks for ole Red. At times I thought I was watching one of those Discovery Channel specials about Earth scenery.

A major flaw of this was that she become all powerful.

The whole movie was a major flaw.

One of the stupidest movies I've ever seen.
I'm kinda blown away by the critics' positive reaction to it.
What's there to like?

I liked the premise of the rapid evolution. Liked the episodes in STTNG and SG1 when it happened so I liked the basic premise.
Just the whole rest of the movie was garbage and made no sense.
Seemed like a script that went through 20 rewrites and each new writer kept pieces of the previous script but the new material didn't even try to be consistent with the past.

My dad suggested this movie when it was at the theater. After we bought our tickets, he said he read the reviews weren't too good. I said that info would have been useful before. I went in hoping the reviews would be wrong.
That movie was a piece of shite.

I wish the myth of people only using 10% of their brain would die.

It would've been a better movie if she hadn't become a god. But then it would've been simply a female Limitless. But her God powers made her too far and above any real external threats and made any decent ending impossible.

Lucy the first 20-30 minutes works well, it starts going down hill fast after she is given the drug.
The turning into a god like being comes from a number of religions that believe one can become a god, which is not a good primus for a movie and takes much from the movie in the end.
A better ending would have had her die from the lack of effects of the drug or become a vegetable.
Wasted near 90 minutes of film.
Strengthen the middle with a better sub plot and the ending should be darker.
