Do you believe that whom a person votes for demonstrates that they "care"? When you vote for a pro-life candidate, do you believe this, by itself, demonstrates your level of caring on the issue?
When you vote for a pro-choice candidate?
A pro-welfare expansion candidate?
A pro-business candidate
etc etc etc?
I submit that if the number of days you contribute PERSONAL ACTION towards a thing you claim to "care" about can be measured by looking at an election day calendar, then you need to re-evaluate your definition of "caring".

I don't understand the question.
Do I vote for candidates that have platforms that at least mostly agree with mine. Yes.
Do I think my vote instantly solves all the world's problems as I see them? No.
Did I think a pro-lifer has to run an adoption agency or a pro-choice type has to work in an abortion clinic to lend power to their convictions? No.

Depends on the issue.
In the case of abortion, if you genuinely believe it is murder, anything short of showing up at abortion clinics and physically trying to prevent them is an inadequate level of "caring". For something like border security though, I think voting for a given candidate shows a proper level of caring.

Well, some people say that who they vote for shows they "care". I don't get that view.
