Not that it matters now, but I bet when Wunderlich easily hit the 47 yard FG tonight Freeze, and all Ole Miss fans must have been wondering, what if.

Of course, that wasn't a game saving field goal in Tiger Stadium, either. Even though it's the same distance, the kid has to be just a tad rattled when your kick is the difference between whether your team loses or not AS A FRESHMAN. Not saying he wouldn't have made it, but that field goal is a LOT different.

The crowd and situation were a little different.

Agreed. But my point being, was that he easily had the leg and Freeze was going to kick it at 42 but then hesitated at 47.

At home - and they lost anyway. I hate Ole Miss - they can cry me a river. On the other hand, I'm going to be pissed to see them 7 to 8 spots ahead of us with 2 losses, including to a common opponent, our other loss is to #1 and we beat them head-to-head.

But, Auburn beat us badly and that's worth 8 to 10 spots.

Agreed! Same thing I thought when he kicked it right through the uprights. Ole Miss "had" a great team this season - probably best team they have had in 2 decades. The Treadwell fumble was about as fluke a play as you could get. They are still very, very good and capable of beating Miss. State straight up in Egg Bowl. We'll see..... This could go down as one of the greatest seasons in SEC West history.

The play that confused the hell out of me was the 1st drive in the 2nd half when they decided to go for it 4th and 2 instead of kicking the short fg.

Freeze was quoted last week that considering the hostile stadium and from that distance he wasn't sure he wanted to test Wunderlich.

It would have only been delaying the inevitable. We would have beat that arse in OT.
