I guess I'm hitting the age where my back is going to start giving me problems. I currently get a massage once a month. Would yoga help and if so what kind?

You should just smoke weed if you aren't afraid of being trashy

But seriously, yes. I'm considering doing the same

BJJ can also help with this.

Yes. Some form of resistance training (other than Yoga) will help, too.

Inversion table deal. A few minutes stretching upside down will make you feel great all day.

The 30 minute P90x is s good start. 2-3x/week.
Even better is the 90 minute P90x original.
Don't expect instant relief but over time, you'll get there.

Take some classes or do physical therapy to learn moves that help your back.

Find a pull-up bar and just hang. Let your vertebrae spread, it'll give you relief and possibly correct the problem over time.

Did that and Krav for a bit. I'll admit that I didn't have any problems other than injuries directly from practice. Unfortunately, neither is an option for me right now.

Go see a doctor and find out what is wrong with it. Ignore the ot.

You mean this is not a good place for sensible and informative information?

This is the best source of info & opinions you can get for free. So back off with that OT bashing. Kay?

I did get a Dr's opinion out of it. If I do the yoga I might be able to put that extra flexibility to use

Barring some crazy injury that required you to modify the moves, yoga is fantastic for flexibility, core strength and focus. It's good stuff.

Helps me. Do it twice a week

Without a doubt, YES. You don't have to get crazy with the moves, but the basic stretch type stuff will do wonders.
Also, Toradol is your friend. Learn to ask for it.
