What's the point of daylight savings?

It's not done everywhere. AZ (except for the Navajo Nation in the northern part of the state) and Hawaii don't here in the US.

Because it sucks getting dark at 5 in the afternoon. We should have it year round.

Just wanted to point out there is no "s" at the end of saving. Daylight saving time, not "savings."

Can't they just set it back 10 minutes every month for 6 months, and then 10 minutes forward for the next 6 months?

Wonder if any other states will ever join those that don't.


Here is AZ...it's not needed. Without the time change in the summer months sunrise is around 5 am and sunset between 7-8. In the fall/winter months sunrise is around 6 am and it's usually dark by 6-6:30.
