Just like sharing a beer or a glass of wine, right?
Nothing creepy about sharing a bong with you Mom and your Pops?
Cool to chill with your college-aged son with a spliff?
Bond with your parents on the couch passing a one-hit pipe?
Educate me on how exactly like having a beer this is...

They're obviously not completely the same, but they're definitely analogous.

Not really. It's only creepy to you because society has told you it is and you've just shut your mouth and accepted it. The stigma attached to weed in our society is downright laughable.

It's a little different than having a beer. It's more akin to getting drunk with your parents. If you do that, smoking weed with them is not trashier.

If alcohol would still be illegal like it was during the prohibition era, then you would feel exactly the same about alcohol. It's legal and it will sponsor the next fricking superbowl and everyone will bask in their stupidity. I find it strange that so many people are so ignorant to this and lack the ability to put two and two together. This is not that hard.

One's an intoxicating substance with various degrees of quality that's enjoyed out of a glass...and the other is THE DEVIL'S REEFER!

This would be a bit odd because pot commonly used in the US today has much higher THC content than it did back in the day.

This little factoid is starting to make some researchers question whether early studies on pot's effects have any validity, btw.

it's exactly the same in the states where it's legal.

I always love this line the best "because society has told you". Like we are all 12 years old and can't think past a simple false dichotomy.

I'm just asking The Weed Board how it feels about smoking pot with the parents/kids.

And do you young stoners ASPIRE to someday getting stoned with your kids like it's a goal/quality well-spent quality time?

Don't be so defensive. Just make your case. That's why I brought it to The Weed Board, mannnnnn....

Well, it's pretty much how you're acting. Explain to me why hitting a joint with your old man is SO different than having a beer. I'll listen.

No, I don't give a shite if my future kid smokes weed. No matter what he does or doesn't do, I'll tell him or her to be responsible, don't do anything stupid and don't allow any substance to control his or her life. If, when I'm older, my son or daughter is of a responsible age and wants to smoke weed with me, I'm all for it. Same with drinking.

I'm not being defensive. And I did make my case. You didn't raise a single point of argument at all.

I exposed my kids to alcohol at family functions when they were in 11-12th grade. A couple beers during summer holidays and wine during the holiday season. When they were in college they shared the lettuce with me, not knowing I had been toking since my high school days....and still do.

BTW... myself and kids are all very successful contributing members of society.

My buddy, we're 50, smokes with his 25 yr old daughter. It's a weird vibe. They also hide it from the wife/mom.

Splitting a beer is not the same but splitting a 12 pack is a much closer representation.. Smocking weed will result in a level of intoxication contingent on ones tolerance where as a beer won't do much for most.. The stigma is in the known result of a joint where the result is in question with a beer or drink..

My dad doesn't smoke but I've got plenty of friends that smoke with their successful dads. Not what you would consider "trashy" folk. I think it'll become more common as legal weed spreads to more states.

That's kinda the point. I was asking a question and you went all Weed Jihadi Superhero on me.

I think disreputable behavior is self-explanatory. Jacking off is a fact of life. Jacking off with your parents in the room is twisted. Now some dude somewhere might make a sophomoric statement like "jacking off is normal mannnnn, just because society says it yada yada yada" instead of considering that Society has certain mores and makes value judgments for a reason.

There may be a reason why society frowns on going full doobage with your children. Maybe it's a legitimate reason. Maybe you just can't grasp it because you are The Stoner Avenger on a serious mission to make the world safe for pot.
