In the other thread he said his brother was a junkie and died after OD'ing. He doesn't have the ability to be reasonable or objective about any kind of drug use.

I guess it is easier to ascribe Straw Man arguments to someone else than refute their legitimate ones. I guess it is easier to be a Zealot than to have a discussion if you lack confidence in your ability to argue persuasively. Good luck with that.

Not as sorry as I am or my parents or his daughter. And who blamed weed? I blame FREE frickING WILL and I blame certain biological family addictive traits. All I said was it was HIS gateway drug and that all addicts have a gateway drug by definition. As for being cavalier about my brother and calling him a "junkie" without knowing the story, all I can say is I sincerely hope you don't have to experience something similar some day. I can tell you that ten years later (this month) that burying my Brother, who was a fricking legend to me, was the great sadness of my life. He was the fricking BOSS .

Your original point in all of this was that smoking a little bit of weed with a parent is somehow trashy as frick and totally not OK, but drinking with them is totally normal and A-OK.
