No doubt there is plenty of OT Balla insight, I want the level just below that.

What is there to do for a week or should I plan to stay a few days combined with another destination?

It's pretty good on the nude beach side. The swinger's club is fun, but there are a lot of old people. We like the mountain hikes. I'd go back, but not to the swinger area. And, I think I would snow ski again too.

Flights out to the Greek Isles usually originate from Athens.

Fly Aegean.

Don't spend more than 2 day in Athens if all you have is a week. Athens is mostly kind of shitty but the history there is pretty cool obviously.

If you go in the summer, I'm sure rates will be high, but it won't rain at all. Spent a month on Rhodes and saw maybe one grey cloud the whole time.

Gorgeous. I'd go in a heart beat. I took a tour of the Aegean, but Santorini wasn't on the list and I regretted it. Rhodes was bad arse and Mykonos felt like the Greek Key West.

10-14 days would make a better trip?

Better = less jam packed in this scenario. Kind of into relaxing vacations at this point

Yes, yes it is.

I think any trip that leaves the US that isn't the Caribbean/Canada should be 10-14 days if you can get it.

If not, you just have to make due.

Really depends on your style of travel too. I spent a long time on Rhodes but I partied something like 20 out of 23 days I was there Could I spend that much time on an island again? Probably not. Would most likely get bored.

If you get 14 you could, IMO, visit a place, Athens, and Santorini. If you get 10 days, you may want to just do the two or perhaps Athens, somewhere near there and Santorini, OR another island ferry trip to an island near Santorini, but I'm not sure what's close/doable since I wasn't in that part.

For instance, Symi(below), was an easy day trip island from Rhodes and very cool for a day. I also took a weekend where I ferried to Turkey and flew to Istanbul.

Fly to Santorini or ferry? Assuming that the ferry is somewhat smooth, wife get motion sickness.

No I did not, but I will put that on the list for the return trip! Bad-arse crusader castle, medieval town, mountain top Greek temple, crystal blue waters, and a nude beach? You just can't lose.

If time is a factor, I'd fly. Most ferries when I was there (2009) are overnight ferries.

I'm sure you can make those fun and have a cabin and all that, but if time is a factor a flight is only an hour most likely.

Memories!

Check out this beach on the east side of the island. Not nude, but probably the nicest one since it isn't rocky but nice smooth sand.

Cool, thanks for the info. Might have to hit you up again if this goes beyond the speculation stage.

Word. I know this has come up before and some posters have actually been to Santorini itself, but I'll be more than happy to help with the other stuff.
