You dont think its strange that guys like rudy macklin, bob petit, or I dont know PETE MARAVICH are nowhere on there? It obviously only goes back to like 2000 or so.

After further review, the ruling on the field is overturned, I don't know where those stats came from, however in my defense they are posted on LSU's official website. I should've been more dilligent.

not even going back that far since darrell mitchell isnt listed in the 3 point records. its going back about 8 years or so max.

However, my point still stands, Stringer is one of LSU's top three point shooters on any list and Hickey made some huge shots for the Tigers last year. Calling them brick shooters when at times they were all LSU had on offense for an entire game is just flat wrong.

stringer i agree. i wont say anything bad really about hickey but i wouldnt consider him that good of a 3 point shooter.

neither played a lick of of perimeter D though.

Defense was never their calling card, but Hickey was solid and always racked up a ton of steals (I'm a little scared to throw out numbers but I believe I recall him ranking high in the NCAA in steals at one point). Tigers should be much better guarding the perimeter this year, which is huge in the SEC. I'm excited to see how well Quaterman plays after a good yet unexciting season last year.

i guess we just disagree. i thought hickey was good for some steals but overall was a terrible on the ball as well as off the ball defender.

first thing i noticed

hickey was streaky from long range. he could be such a better player if he was a better foul shooter because he has the ability to get to the rim. just hesitates when he gets there because he doesn't want to get fouled.

I'll admit that Hickey had his flaws in both ends of the floor, however I don't think his "dismissal" or whatever you want to call it makes the team better. Like him or not, Hickey had the ability to get hot and bring the Tigers back into a game single handedly. While his foul shooting was terrible, oftentimes last season it felt like at the end of a close game, Hickey was the only one willing to shoot. I think Hickey was a good player and I would've liked to see him lead this young, talented backcourt

I cant make an honest prediction after last year's let down.

This team is easily capable of getting 3rd place in the SEC, and a decent seed in the NCAAT...but so was last years team and they tanked, so, I'll just hang up and wait.

This team has the make-up of a similar team that went to the final four not that long ago.

1) We have a pure point guard in Josh Gray. Gray as most of you know lit up the JUCO level at over 30 points per game. He is fast and is a basketball player who is in the gym 24-7.

2) We have a true shooting guard at 6-4 in Hornsby. He is an excellent free throw shooter as well at over 90%.

3) Everyone knows that Martin has NBA talent. He came on late last year after struggling with an injury early on.

4) Mickey is NBA ready. He lit it up this summer at the Michael Jordan Camp. He is the glue to this team.

5) Robinson will be a space eater down low. Can block shots and rebound. I don't expect him to get a ton a minutes.

The kid from Australia, the kid from Alexandria, and the point guard from Georgia will all be in the mix to relieve these guys. The big guy also that was a juco transfer last year will get in the mix also to help on the defensive end.

Anything less than 25 win season will be a disappointment.

Gray, Martin, and Mickey will all be in the NBA next year. Bank on it!
