Mark Ingram has now rushed for 431 on the year through 8 games, 5 games played, with 8 games left on the schedule against the:

49ers 4th ranked run defense (3.96ypc)
Cincinnati 29th ranked run defense (4.76ypc)
Baltimore 7th ranked run defense (3.65ypc)
@Pittsburgh 11th ranked run defense (4.52ypc)
Carolina 27th ranked run defense (4.84ypc)
@Chicago 13th ranked run defense (4.22ypc)
Atlanta 24th ranked run defense (3.98ypc)
@Tampa Bay 23rd ranked run defense (4.11)

He has pounded it 54 times for 272 yards (5.04ypc) the last 2 games with a combined 3 TDs.

With 8 games left, he needs to average 71.125ypg to hit 1000 for the first time in his career, and the Saints 1st 1000 yard running back since Deuce in 2006.

569 yards with a healthy 4.5ypc would mean 126.4 carries, 15.8 carries a game.

Can he do it?

Give him 20 carries a game at 4ypc and he'll have 640 yards.

Let's say he gets 4ypc (little lower expectation than yours). In order to hit 569 yards it would be 142.25 carries. Rounded up to 143 carries over 8 games it would be 17.875 carries per game.

It will be close. He's averaged more ypc and carries per game these last two, but PT was hurt so who knows if that will hold. Plus he was injured earlier this season and he has to stay healthy.

Gotta give some credit to the Carolina D but Ingram was going down on first contact a majority of his runs last night. Not his usual beast self.
But thank you Sean for sticking with it.
