Tell friend you will meet him 1/2 way and give him gear. Go take care of your other friend.

Well you probably lose a friend if you go fishing.

Trips get cancelled due to weather and other issues all the time. I think this situation trumps them all my man.

Be there for you friend. It's not about your feelings of the wife

What time is the funeral and is there a chance of driving up solely for the funeral and then heading back to the lake?

Driving all the way to Ohio and back with a funeral in between and still have time to fish?

still no word yet about funeral arrangements. I'm almost certain it will be this weekend though.

I haven't been to many funerals on weekends. Stop by and chat with the guy this evening and feel him out for burial plans. Hell, at 82, he may need some help with those things and he may have to postpone till Monday.

Find somebody to take your gear and go help your friends at the camp while you go to the funeral. Free fishing trip for that guy and your friends still get to go fishing.

Wait until you know when the funeral is, you may not have to change anything..

Remind him of the character of his wife. Talk him into skipping the funeral and going fishing with you.

Put all of your stuff in the boat and call the fishing buddies to tell them to come hook up and take your stuff. If the funeral is local, you might be able to drive over afterwards to at least pick up your gear.

I would assume your friends would understand and tell you not to bother. Maybe they'll even swing by Academy and buy their own shite instead.

The old man needs friends this weekend more than someone in a lake house does.

if she was that big of a bitch, he may be happy to be rid of her. Bring a 12 pack and see if you can bring him to the camp after the service.

Wind is supposed to be 10-15 with gusts to 25 tomorrow. Not sure how much fishing they will be doing this weekend. And if you have to ask you already know the answer.
