I'll be hunting out of a tripod over looking a large open field that bumps up to a large bedding area. The protein feeder is about 100 yards away.

This 9 point is an older deer and is in the area.

I really hope this guy comes crusing by but, I don't think he's in the area.

The property owner has informed me that there is a monster in the area but I have no pictures of him. Here's to a successful weekend.

eta: sorry for the bad photos. taking pictures of the computer sceen.

Going to Denver this weekend then DC the next. Wasn't really thinking when planning these vacations but oh well. My dad and brother will be going down so I will still be posting kills as if I was there

I'm hunting horns Saturday morning. The afternoon I'm laying does down. Sunday morning I'm going to spot and stalk and rattle.

Might be a little early for that, at least down where we are.

What town are ya'll near by? We're in the Hill Country right outside of Gatesville, Tx.

The reason I said rattling is because I did some spot and stalking last year for the first time ever and I saw a bunch of deer close up. Specifically a heavy 8 pointer about 30 yards away. I've only felt a rush like that a couple times in my life.

We are in Tilden, pretty much due south of San Antonio. Rattling is my favorite thing to do hands down, you just have to catch the rut at the right time for it to be effective. I have posted this video a bunch here, but I took this a few years back rattling on our place. He was 3.5 then, and I actually ended up killing this deer this past year.

Wow! That's crazy.

That's the first time I've ever seen your video. Did you post a pick after you killed him? I feel like I saw that deer last year on here..

Never been to Tilden but I know ya'll have a pile of deer down there. A buddy of mine hunts south of San Antonito and my god yall have a bunch of deer. Fredericksburg...
