I don't mind people having a wedding website.

It's a good thing to have if you follow strict traditional invitation etiquette (no putting registered stores, no excluding dates/children, etc.). That type of information can be put on the wedding website, so you don't have to rely on only word of mouth.

That site says to feel free to BYOB to the reception. So, feel free to bring a handle of Beam, but no TV's because it's a special day, damnit!

Ok, come on. The girl chose to have an article written about her, crying for attention. These are the consequences.

I have a feeling this girl is of the "any attention is good attention" variety.

Oh yeah. I forgot how this thread started. I was thinking someone found this on their Facebook.

There's a public article about them that they OK'd? frick it. I no longer care about the photos. People have got to learn how the internet works.

"them kids". "we not taking another bath". That proposal story must have been written by the 4 year old...and edited by Jed Clampett.

I always say this when this topic comes up every year: I grew up in NOLA and still don't really care about Mardi Gras as much as most people do. However I would never get married on Endymion Saturday because I'm aware that 90% of the people invited do care about it. Same applies here.

I think that's the way to do it, personally.

Registering is great since you let people know what you need. But reminding people where you're registered on your actual invitation just kinda seems like you're reminding them to buy you a gift.

I don't agree with that, how else would they know where to find your registries?

ETA: The formal invite isn't the place for it of course.

So, follow strict invitation etiquette and then build a 10 page website including bio's of the wedding party?

If I were this guy, I'd run.....far! Now.

That's why I said a basic (no bios) wedding website is a good idea.

Believe me, people have been registering for decades. Women already know to search the normal places, and they will ask if they haven't found you anywhere. It's just not totally necessary to include in your invitation where you're registered.

Personally, and I know this isn't popular opinion, I don't even like/want/believe in showers for myself. I don't want anyone to give me one. Engagement party? Sure. They can be swanky and fun for guests. Showers are boring for all parties involved, and I don't like the idea of something that says "Buy me a gift". Just for me personally though. I understand why others choose to have showers.

Friends of mine hardly registered anywhere. I think they did a little bit of silver from Adlers and some linens from Custom Linens. Otherwise, they didn't want/need specific gifts from anyone. They ended up racking up big time in gift cards and got to spend the next few months decorating their home how they wanted.

Highly doubt this chick did. She doesn't seem the type to be up on etiquette since she is doing BYOB

I think this is silly for the most part too. Additional info is all that is needed.

He's clearly as into this as she is, as evidenced by her multiple paragraph descriptions of each bridesmaid followed by his list of names.
