I saw an interview with the Marine father. He served in the Middle East, so I can assume he has no love for Islam and doesn't want it misrepresented by the teachers.

the us armed services themselves teach cultural awareness courses to their personnel deploying to majority-islamic countries. this marine would deny the same education to his children and have them wallow in ignorance?
