IIRC, they weigh right at 5lbs a piece. I wore them all day 5 days a week, usually walking between 3 and 15 miles, but I got used to them.

I don't know about the quality of Red Wings other than the loggers. I had some trouble with three different pairs (Am made) of pull-ons a few years back, and I have heard similar things from a few other people. Weird because the same exact pair previously lasted me almost 4 years.

I do know that Justin has a few solid lines of lace-ups though. The American made ones are higher quality and are also rebuildable.

My loggers are maybe 4 years old with a few thousand miles of strictly woods walking, and are still very usable and still 100% waterproof. I honestly wouldn't suggest something that heavy though, but I would get lace-ups of I were you. They actually make walking easier in most situations

My Red Wings are the highest quality production logger I have seen. Have to get custom ones to be any better.

Justin now has this gel sole that I love. I tried on 5 or 6 different brands and none of them were as comfortable. My last two pairs of pull-ons have been Justins

I second the Georgia Giant pull ons. Although I wear Georgia Romeos since I don't have to climb towers anymore.

I used to love Wolverine Durashocks but they lost a customer when they changed to the one piece molded soles.

I like my ariats. Been wearing them for about a year and a half. Got some twisted x's in April and I like them a lot too but don't wear them to work. In January when I get new boots I'll start wearing my twisted x to work. As far as steel toes cutting your toes off if something heavy enough lands on them, do you really think you're keeping your toes if you didn't have the steel toes or if you had composite and the same heavy object fell on your feet? They'd be crushed either way.

Ariot, red wing, Doc Martin... Go to the boot store and try them on. What kind if work wil you be doing? I have buddies that swear by Docs because th comfort but they don't seem to last in a really rough environment. Ariat is my boot of choice because they're comfy and last.

I recently switched to these Double H after years of timberland. I love the comfort of the timberlands but the fabric on the heel/Achilles rips too easily. These are comfortable and IMO good looking enough to wear out on the town if necessary. Got 'me for around 160, company reimburses up to 150

I've owned Dr. Martin, Wolverine, Red Wing, Ariat, and I always go back to Dr. Martin. They are the most comfortable for me.

Do not waste money on doc martens

Buy a pair of your choice and buy some memory foam insoles from Amazon

Best 13 bucks I have ever spent
