The biggest mystery about the Fri. after Thanksgiving 1:30 time slot/participants is......WHY is the bama/au game "EXEMPT" ???????

And why does CBS allow A&M to move the game to a day that CBS can't broadcast the game when it's in College Station?

I don't think CBS has any kind of "rights" to a Thurs. SEC game AND their NFL contract may preclude this as well !

I don't know, but A&M guaranteed a Thanksgiving Night game without asking permission from CBS.

I may be wrong, but I think CBS controls the time slots, not the day a team plays. I think any home team could move a game to Thursday night if they so choose without CBS' approval. I was always under the impression playing the Friday game was with LSU's permission.

But I've been wrong before...

Actually, I don't necessarily disagree with this. Despite the fact that 98% of the LSU fan base hates this Black Friday game in combination with the time slot, I think somebody in the LSU hierarchy likes this.

Agreed. A&M picked a day (Thursday) that CBS doesn't control. CBS would rather broadcast NFL that day. ESPN doesn't have a better option, so they'll play at night.

Next year, because we wanted not Thursday (Friday/Saturday, which CBS controls) we are subject to the time slot CBS picks. Iron Bowl will probably get the Saturday night spot...leaving us with Friday night or Saturday afternoon, most likely.

Les Miles said he was NOT in favor of playing A&M on Tgiving in CS UNLESS we could have TWO open dates so we could have one the weekend before that game. In 2016 that game will NOT be on Tgiving day is my understanding as that season has only one open date opportunity. LSU is not playing 11 straight weekends before an open date just so the Ags can play on Tgiving.

And, make no mistake about it: LSU must give its approval for any game to moved to a Thursday no matter where it is played.

LSU/A&M will not be on Friday….trust me. That Friday afternoon game is NOT a big "ratings slot" like a prime time or Saturday afternoon game is, so who the bigger draw is is not a factor.

I wish it was on friday. The Arkansas game is the game i wen to the most as a kid. I think we got relatives tickets because they never wanted to go after thanksgiving.

Kinda ingrained in my sports DNA at this point.

Only when it's at A&M. When it's at LSU, it should be on Saturday.

This is true if CBS doesn't ask to move the game to Friday which is still in play.
