As a Rockets fan, I hate that tanking can get you a player like Davis. I'm so damn jealous. We have finished 9th or better in the West for years. We were 9th for three years in a row. No playoffs and shitty pick.

Then they got Davis and immediately starting trying to put young talent around him, which they still get criticized for, while Philly's hypothetical team in 2020 is celebrated like they'll be the future Spurs.

Pels/Hornets went 17-22 down the stretch that season (11-11 in final 22), so they weren't exactly in full tank mode.

I'm just jealous y'all have gotten a #1 overall pick. The closest the Grizz have ever been was #2 a few times (Most recent #2 pick was Thabeet 
). We've had the best odds 4 times and no #1 picks.
Most frustrating one has to be almost landing the #1 pick the year LeBron entered the league. The pick was protected that if got the #1 pick we could keep it, instead we got the #2 pick and had to give it to Detroit. Thankfully they wasted it on Darko.

Of all the really bad teams that year, we were the only team that was still trying to win games. Was it a tank? Sure. We lost Chris Paul. But it was a honest tank. Unlike philly...
