The next 4 weeks will of course tell the tale.. But a strong possibility exists that the SEC West will eliminate itself from a National Championship once the dust has settled. This will leave teams like Oregon, Notre Dame, Florida State and TCU in the Final Four. What a travesty this would be. The SEC West has the best teams in the country who could be sitting at home watching this play out. So much for our new system. The SEC stands to lose the most as long as this system is in place.

the sec champ is going. I don't care what their record is. If they are 7-5 in the regular season, they are still going.

I would be ok with this, it would create an unreal uproar.

The commitee has said from the beginning that it won't necessarily be the top 4 ranked teams, but who they believe are the 4 best teams in the country. The SEC West has 2 of the top 4 teams in the country, it will most definitely be represented.

I think this is simply the year of the cowbell. They just seemed destined much like Auburn last year. I do not know if they lose any games before the playoffs.

no chance...this system is a political one that is designed to try to make everyone happy and leaving out an SEC team would leave a big sect of fans extremely unhappy...

There's a very small chance that everybody in the SEC will finish with two losses. LSU beats Alabama, Auburn beats Ole Miss, Alabama beats MSU and Auburn, Ole Miss beats MSU, Auburn or SECW champ beats UGA. A lot of things have to happen, and then the committee still has to pass on a 2-loss SEC champ. So I'd say the percentage chance is about 1%.
