I called a dealer and they suggested that I use the name brand Bad Boy batteries. My question is will any 6 volt golf cart battery work? The dealer stated it would work but I would be replacing the batteries next year.

Generic battery cost- $750 roughly
Bad Boy Brand battery cost- $1200 roughly

Need 8

TIA

Do you buy your truck battery at the dealership or do you know that Walmart has the same battery for 50% less?

What are the OEM batteries? Are they AGM? Make sure you are comparing the same type, amp hours, etc.

buy a reputable name brand battery. if you post the voltage and amp hour rating on your current batteries, I am sure someone can help you better.

I don't know where you are located at, but if you are near New Orleans check with Jefferson Battery.

just get the specs (i.e. amp-hour and cold cranking amp) and you should be able to get exactly the same battery from most places that sell batteries....

fwiw, it typically does cost $800 - $1,000 to replace golf cart batteries, though...

Nah man Its just Bad Boy branding themselves, Bring an old battery to a real battery shop and I'm sure they can get you a new one a lot cheaper without a pretty sticker on it.

My BBB came with Trojan batteries (supposed to be the "gold standard"). Five years later I let BBB replace the batteries with their brand. (This was before E-Z-Go bought BBB)

Run time on a full charge wasn't any better with the new BBB brand batteries than it was with the 5 year old Trojans. So, just saying I wouldn't pay a premium for the BBB brand.

If you really want the "best" get a set of AGM batteries. Completely sealed. No maintenance. Virtually all are made in China ("Full River" is the common brand). I have these that came in my 48 v. Beast and they're outstanding -- but expensive. LINK

Bottom line: I'd say go to Wal-Mart or Cabelas and get generic batteries of comparable voltage, size and amperage rating. And maintain water levels, keep 'em charged, etc.

Trojan batteries

This is what we have in our Cruz Cart - who also supply the Beast hunting vehicles they have held up very good, lots of power and seem to hold a very good charge.

pretty sure it's illegal to make someone buy parts from the manufacturer.Illegal as well to void a warranty for using aftermarket parts.
Well,for automotive it is anyway.

When I ordered the cart, the upgrade from conventional deep cycle batteries to AGM batteries was $800.

The AGM batteries have been great (zero maintenance, no fumes during charging, longer run time) -- I'm just not sure they're worth that price difference.

Two very good quality AGM batteries are Discover and LifeLine. Odyssey is what came with my Ruff n Tuff cart. Battery World in Baton Rouge sells Discover. If you call them, tell them how many you need, and they should make you a good deal. They will also typically match online prices.
