Good guys. They are the royal family on the moon, and they've been exposed to these mists which cause physical deformities but also give them great power. Though, being comic books, they've fought the Fantastic Four and Avengers on occasion. But Crystal became an Avenger eventually and Black Bolt is Earth's most reliable interstellar ally.

They will almost certainly be set up as the counterpoint to the Kree, already introduced in Guardians of the Galaxy as the prime evil outside of Thanos himself.

Thanks.

Is the prevalent thought that Skye on AoS is half Inhuman?

Yeah, that's certainly a theory the talk now is that AoS is about to drop a Terrigen bomb and the Skye's father is either Maximus the Mad (unlikely) or another Inhuman......or is Mr.Hyde-which would make Skye really be Daisy "Quake" Johnson young superstar SHIELD agent, but not an Inhuman.

Personally I think she's Inhuman for sure. AoS is going to introduce Inhumans....crazy for a show that people complained about "no capes". Maybe Marvel has a had plan for this show all along.

Somewhere down the line, I'll bet Skye is in a proper film too.

Vin is a huge nerd and would be a great Black Bolt. I hope they don't look elsewhere. If not Diesel, for some ridiculous reason, I vote Joel Edgerton.

But because of Bolt's stature and situtation, the cast around him matters greatly. Medusa...eh...I would almost cross that list with the Danvers list, it's probably similar.

Crystal, Moretz, Saorsi Ronan, etc. It's hard to strike out there because even the popular young actresses would probably bite. Pick the best one.

For Goron - If we're going to bring in Blunt, let's think about John Krasinski. Leatherheads makes me believe he could have a little fun in this role.

Karnak is probably a really interesting choice. I can see a lot of names here, but I'm going to throw out Dan Stevens. I loved his role in the Guest and can seriously see him doing this.

Triton - Doug Jones. Easy.

I agree with all of this. Bolt will have virtually no dialogue, unless it's telepathic or as they've done in the past voice modulation devices. I'd think that mean Medusa's screen time is mostly with Bolt, making Crystal and Quicksilver has the bigger duo there.

If they are going to cast real young with Crystal (and imo, should be in the mid 20s tpye) then Dakota Fanning is in there too....really I know I talking to myself here but for the love of God keep Moretz away from Crystal. She can play plenty of characters in the MCU, but not the love interest (again) of Taylor-Johnson.

I like Allison Brie at least as far as depicting Crystal, but there are plenty of ways to go.

The great thing about the Inhumans are that even though they've been around since 1965, the leads(Black Bolt,Medusa,Crystal) have appeared in only about 1000 issues across the Marvel line(as opposed to Wolverine who is around 12000 issues) so their imprint is lighter and the characters can be modified a little.

I'm curious to see if Marvel does allow Black Bolt to pull a Silent Bob and speak once a film. Or heaven forbid, actually speak.

Here's a fun fact:

Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlet Witch) played the wife of Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Quicksilver) in Godzilla.

Totally different scenario and here's why:

1) They weren't playing costumed superheroes
2) Taylor-Johnson/Moretz were playing higher profile roles, was really both of their "star turn" films
3) Godzilla has been done so many times, the actors are inconsequential
4) The Godzilla reboot of 2014 has far less of a pop culture impact than Kick arse and it's sequel
5) Ironically enough, since the Ultimate Universe and really for such a long time in the 616, Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch have always had an incestial vibe, it makes their casting apporiate. not that anyone remembers that film(that just came this year).

Like I said before if Garfield and Stone were playing Cyclops and Jean Grey it would be a distraction...and honestly Crystal has been seen as a drop dead knockout...she's been with Johnny Storm(walking STD), Ronan (Kree big timer) and Quicksilver (from the House of Magneto). Dudes are trying to get up in that. Moretz is very pretty but she isn't that girl.

do you think it wouldn't be a distraction for the audience?

Woah. Lets not be ridiculous. I agree that the situations are different but disagree that the actors in American Godzilla movies are inconsequential and laugh at the notion that 2014 Godzilla had "far less of a pop culture impact than Kick arse"

See, and this is why I think the casting of Bolt is so important. He's the king (and Medusa is therefore the de facto leader as his Voice), so he needs to have heft and dominate the screen without using dialogue. That's tough to do. You botch Black Bolt, the Inhumans don't work.

I do agree with you there's lots of leeway with character, which honestly, has been the MCU's greatest skill. The characters are recognizable as their comic inspiration, but there's room to color outside the lines. Movie Loki is about a billion times better than Comic Loki (and the inverse is true for Hawkeye, who is one of the more beloved second tier characters but is just kind of there in the movies). They respect the source material, but they aren't slaves to it.

The Illuminati membership

Black Bolt was a member of the Illuminati, not Black Panther.

Enjoyed the rest of your argument as why you believe he is part of the Big 3

After Further review, I did find this....
Originally, Tony Stark united these men along with the Black Panther shortly after the Kree-Skrull War had first involved Earth. He suggested they form a mega group that would be prepared to face such similar threats by uniting all of the existing super teams and groups. Eventually, the idea was minimized in scale to a secret cabal that would share information and decide secretly how all of the individual groups would correspond, with T'challa choosing not to join the group

The Illuminati meeting are held in Wakanda.
Panther actually said the idea of the Illuminati was a terrible idea in the original story and refuses membership(Post Kree-Skrull war) and in the Marvel NOW storyline he certainly is.

yeah Black Suit Iron Man is a Saints themed Halloween costume for the NOLA crowd.

Marvel's been doing a great job on Stark armor lately, his next one looks sleek...

In addition to that his newest storyline has him again in a villainous role, with Daredevil taking him on in SF.
