Switching to Charter from Uverse. Max internet they offer in my area is 30 mbps. My problem is a large family with heavy strain on wireless network (too many devices). I'm hoping Charter can handle the load better than Uverse. My max Uverse speed offered was 18 but we would get between 7-12 mbps max.

The above router is what Charter offers as rental ($5 month). They said its very strong and can handle speeds and loads well. Is this accurate or would I be better buying my own wireless router? Is there a router that can accommodate multiple devices without losing performance or is that just not possible?

thanks

I don't know router brands specifics, but I've been led to believe that there are way more powerful routers available than the ones the company offers......

I have this router and get around 80mb on speedtest with wireless connection and close to 90 wired. It can handle lots of devices using bandwidth. I can have two Netflix streams plus amazon instant going and browse Internet and have no issues

I'll bite..We all know I love this subject...What internet speed do you pay for, or are you doing this correctly and telling me your connection speed (which could reach in the 300+ with this router)

Looks as if it is a good, 100$ router...

I'm assuming he has the 100 mbps offered by Charter and Cox cable. I don't know of anyone else that offers that kind of speed.

Two things. I was wrong I have the WNDR4700 not 4300.

I have the Cox plan with 100 download speed. I show the speeds I mentioned when I run speedtest.net.

that's awesome. How much do you pay for the 100 mbps?
