You are so right, and it cost us the game last week when Davon Godchaux stuffed our RBs all game. If only his mom hadn't let him go to Ole Miss like he wanted ...

Fair enough. I stand corrected. If that time holds through college, he will be have the fastest 40 yard dash by any LB at the NFL combine in over a decade.

Yeah his numbers are ridiculous and they match DBs in the same settings. Man we would be stupid dangerous on defense if he came here.

If Beckwith stayed for his senior year, I could legitimately see a starting LB crew of Garrett, Jefferson and Beckwith. Of course all that is pie in the sky right now, but man, what if.

Moms are almost always the most important factor; almost always. April is the exception, not the rule. I remember Ashlon Jeffrey's mom saying that she talked him out of his first choice because she wanted him as close to home as possible, and that she knew he would follow her wishes because nobody loved him like she did.

Strong families favor LSU in my opinion. ( the "uncles" favor other schools). Miles is all about family and he loves his players just as much as he loves winning. I hope Jefferson's family at least visits LSU but I understand the home pull.

Bet Godchaux's mom said "Son, yo momma was right" after Sat nite.

I'm sure this guy is good at football, but I'm 99% sure he doesn't run a 4.3 as stated in OP.

Granted it was in shorts, but he ran a 4.39 at the SPARQ event this year.

We lost 4 5*'s last year which their parents wanted them to go to lsu and they left or parents wanted them to stay in their state and they listened. 1/5 is not a good ratio incase you don't know math

Chief needs to sell the shite outta Kwon leaving for the NFL after this year. It's happening and he could get solid pt right away.

I don't know about that. Kwon is a little small for the nfl. I hope he comes back it would be hard to replace him immediately with malik or without him. Plus malik said he expects to sit and get only a few reps as a freshman so I don't know if the whole we play freshman is as enticing to him as others.

If kwon leaves It will be Debo's job to lose but you would think Jefferson would play a lot. Don't get me wrong I hope to god Kwon comes back. Just don't think he will.

Yeah don't think early playing time is a deciding factor. I think he's all about defensive scheme and style of play, productivity, and atmosphere.

Well that's definitely in progress. Have you seen them play lately? There will be a mutiny there before long. NO WAY, and I mean NO frickING WAY Texas is this weak if Brown is still there.

Brown is gone. Charlie Strong is UT coach now.

On another note:

Baton rouge is about a 6 hour drive from Mesquite, Tx.

UT and TAM are about 3 hours. Mom only has an extra 3 hour drive to see her son, big deal.

No shite. It was meant as a hint that Strong is basically running the program into the aforementioned implosion. Texas went all in on the guy and they will stick with him until they are run into the ashes. They are on the hook for a ton of money.

So, I would assume it helps in a situation like this where a kid might know Strong is staying and they want NO part of the dumpster fire at either school.

I don't know why you think the problems with Texas football are attributable to Charlie Strong. He inherited a dumpster fire of players with an entitlement attitude that he has tried to replace with one of accountability. The offensive line was a mess, and it will take time and talent to address that major weakness. On the flip side the Texas team is playing with an intensity on defense that wasn't evident the past few years. And Malik Jefferson is a defensive player. So he may actually like what he sees going on at Texas. The issue is whether he wants to play on a winning team immediately or be part of something building for future success.

The bottom line is that you won't find too many people with an interest in Texas football who would want Mack Brown back at this point. They know that he is the person most responsible for the sad state of the program. He is the man who recruited and coached the Texas team that didn't have a single player drafted by the NFL last year for the first time in memory. The Texas football team is weak because of Mack Brown.

Screw all y'all! I said before August we were a contender for him and others, while y'all just made sly comments and discredited it.

I don't know their financial situation and the size of their vehicle, but money could be a factor too...driving 3 hours is a lot easier than driving 6 too...

Team I was listening to a podcast yesterday and the Ole Miss Scout writer basically said the same thing. He was talking about how good Davon was getting and said yea he would have been at Ole Miss if it wasn't for his mom
