20 out of 25 computers say we're a Top 10 team.

And this is why they went to the committee. Even if we go 10-2, nobody outside of our fanbase will want us ahead of a 1 loss Ohio St, Notre Dame, Michigan St etc. Even if we could beat them straight-up (and if we do finish 10-2, I think we would), the rest of the nation wants to have their shot too. They will tolerate the SEC having 1 team in since it's the best conference, but no more than that.

Nebraska fans were bitching that we jumped them in the polls.

The computers appreciate LSU has played three top 10 teams...pollsters not so much. Very few teams will play that many in a year and probably none outside the SEC. We have a fourth in two weeks.

This is why I always liked the computer polls. It recognizes how difficult schedules are in the SEC.

Dumbass committee members are going to downplay the strength of a dominant conference in favor of teams in other conferences because of "fairness", politics, and whatever other BS human element they can think of.

That is awesome. Top 10 is 6 SEC teams and only 1 from each of the other power 5 conferences

Georgia might be the least impressive top 10 team ever.

Well let's see, their best win is either Rutgers or Miami (neither close to being a Top 25 team) and they managed to beat McNeese State on a miracle play.

So there's their argument.

The Tigers will have played four SEC teams that are in the top 5.

#1, #3, #4 #3.

Who else outside of the SEC plays 33% of their season against top 5 talent ?

LSU averages 250 rushing yards per game. 39th in the nation.

Alabama is a winnable game. A win for the Tigers in two weeks would make this rebuilding team 2-2 against the very best teams in the country.

I produce one of the rankings on there (Knight). They're #7 in mine. I value strength of schedule pretty highly.

Pollsters don't use their brains. They penalized LSU for losing to a then-unranked team. They never go back and say, "hey, maybe we penalized them too much now that said team is actually #1 in the nation."

Most computer formulas give full credit to how good the opponent is now.

Should have never been left to begin with. A committee full of bias people is worse.. Just take the top 4 teams from the BCS.. How hard is that for a playoff? I much more appreciate all that goes into the BCS (which is a ton) over a committee full of people from certain schools in play.. and just heavily human bias element.

TUba Top 101 has them at #4.

Their highest ranking in the composite is #3. So my ranking isn't that insane I don't think.
