The Wave? You're team is down 7-3 to the number 3 team in the country, and backed deep into its own end zone. And you try to start the Wave going? If you have to do it at all the wave is for when you're up by 28 and bored.

All you're going to wind up doing is making loud crowd cheers when the stadium should be quiet. And distracting the crowd from the game.

Is it the band that usually tries to start the Wave?

It was the fans in the west side trying to start the wave. They were being loud and I didn't understand it at all.

I never even noticed the wave was trying to start. Nobody in my section did it.

I sit near the student section. They tried several times ( at the worst possible times). They managed a weak wave all the way to the Ole Miss section a couple of times. Fortunately it never caught on.

Someone just needs to tell them there's a time and place for it. Not whenever you think it's cool...

The Wave?

I must have missed that. I was too busy alternating between yelling as hard as I could bear on defense and resting on offense.

Seriously I'm still hoarse. It was my best performance since Florida 07 and its obvious I wasn't the only one. The fans really came through on this one.

The students came. They stayed. Personally, I think NOT rushing the field would have been much more awesome and would show Ole Miss that they are still Ole Miss but I was impressed by the students. For once.

Complaining about the wave in a game like that is the same as complaining that the supermodel you just banged could have had bigger nipples.

NO, it's not,, it's much worse! I wouldn't or couldn't have noticed if there was a wave going on if they were wearin' purple thongs. with that game and atmosphere inside that building, does somebody really give a shite if there's a wave? I hate that their game day experience was shattered. sheeeeit!!

I was a student from 1979- 1983, and I feel as I always have just like at the Georgia game in 2003 the LSU students are the best in the world. So if any body ever doubts that F them.

Apparently your depth of Football acumen is missing the part about how starting a loud cheer when your team is behind and deep in its own end zone is a bad idea. You were probably one of the morons trying to get it going.

I said the students were great. It's just a minor criticism cause most didn't do it, but trying to start the Wave when your team has the ball and is behind to the number 3 team in the country is just plain dumb.

You guys will complain about anything: cup throwing, the wave, paper airplanes, people standing, mike not coming to the game, students leaving early, etc. Does it ever end?

Watching on TV, it looked like Jennings was extremely annoyed by the wave. He was under center backed up near our goal line, and all of a sudden you hear the
Is swelling of noise that was very uncharacteristic when on offense during a critical point in the game. Jennings backed away from the center and waved his arms to quite down. Actually thought he showed good leadership there. What was our crowd thinking to start a wave at that moment?

Apparently this. Having fun doing the Wave is more important than winning to some people...
