Hate to say it but Welter was the weak link (which everyone already knew). He consistently was manhandled in all aspects of play. Beckwith and Godchaux definitely bring another dimension to this defense.

Collins and Martin are still huge question marks. They need to step up otherwise we will see a lot of what is perceived to be 3rd and Chavis next week.

While Beckwith is definitely playing better than Welter, this defensive line has stepped up it's play. It's night and day. Also, Chavis has put the cornerbacks out on an island, the safeties are almost full time run support.

I Think Welter was a huge liability. The defense has been on another level since Beckwith has been playing. Wish we had given Beckwith more snaps last year.

Weren't a lot of people shitting on Beckwith a few weeks ago? Seems to me they were. You have a good game, you're a Heisman candidate, you have a bad game, you need to be booted from the team. There is no middle ground.

The play that he made on 3rd and 2 on the final drive where he stopped the RB in his tracks they fell parallel to the first down marker instead of falling backwards shows signs that he is an absolute stud in the making. He's the only backer on the team that could have made that play.

I don't recall anyone shitting on Beckwith. Everyone knew he was better than Welter.

Totally changed the dynamic to our LBers.

Beck and Kwon were an unbelievable force.

Get ready for it. The rest of this year and next year y'all are gonna witness one of the best Defenses in the country.

Just seize the opportunity with a good offense and we will be challenging for a NC next year.

I thought I read a lot of posts saying Beckwith was barely an improvement over Welter, this a few weeks back. Regardless, it's apparent the kid brings strength to an area that our team has been lacking in.

maybe so but the defense has really improved thanks to chavis. I didn't ecxpect this amount of improvement this fast.

Now we had best get a passing game quick because Saban will be stacking the box UNLIKE freeze most the game. 4 turnovers and we still won. wow. I thought Ole Miss would try the FG at the end. From my vantage point in the WU it looked like freeze only had 7 in the box most the night.

Aside from the Stokes touchdown my favorite play of the night! An absolute certain first down then Beckwith knocks the guy sideways.

I thought this, but wasn't gonna post it. But then thought, it maybe just the evolution of this team. After last night, reading all the negativity about Miles and the team, the last few weeks and agreeing with a lot of it, proves that that fans are just emotional and these coaches know what they are doing

Except when they dont know what they are doing. Example beckwith for a year and a half.

Dont get me wrong, they do alot right, but this and the refusal to leave the CBs on an island until a couple, weeks ago, really hurt.

He gets in a few plays, and almost all special teams
