My dad likes to tell a story about my first grade teacher's incompetence.

I came home from school and while at dinner my parents asked me what I learned in class that day. I told them that Miss Lewis taught us the word 'kinda'.

My dad was a bit confused and thought that I simply misspoke, so he asked me to further explain.

I said, "You know, like when you say it's 'kinda' cloudy today."

Needless to say, that was indeed my final year in the EBR public school system. And for the record, Miss Lewis likely voted democrat.

I was stabbed in the arm by a razor blade found on the ground at the bus transfer point we had to switch buses at. I was like 9 when it happened. One of the special ed kids found it, picked it up and just stabbed me with it...don't think he even realized what he was doing.

I spent 12 years in it, I don't think there is a sadder story.

My kindergarten teacher made us pronounce the letter "r" as "r-ruh."

Please forgive me, but I chuckled a little after reading that.

This was back in the 80s too. Bus aide just poured some peroxide from the first aid kit over the cut and slapped a bandaid over it. End of that. Told my mom what happened when I was dropped off at home.

It took years to recover from the PTSD I had from CMS.

Place was a frickin zoo. Mounted patrol at dismissal kind of zoo.
Typical day included the smell of pepper spray, or the sound of a taser.

Weaves on the floor in the lunch hall once/week.

Had a relative work in their accounting department. It took about 3 months for her to say there is no way in hell I'm going to be responsible for this cluster and quit.

Our gym teacher use to fondle our nut sacks. He got fired after he had an Easter "sleep-over" at his house. (this was in the 70's)
