I prefer Goodman

I hadn't seen Raising Arizona until a couple months ago, he was great in it too

Goodman, but Bacon is underrated.

Goodman gave Oscar caliber performances in (edited to correct)Barton Fink and Lebowski.

I don't think Bacon has delivered a performance that is Oscar-worthy, but he has held his own in films like Apollo 13, Mystic River, even A Few Good Men, and was not outclassed by the excellent performances around him in those films.

Both are pretty versatile. Kevin Bacon is underrated, whereas I think people already consider Goodman to be very legit.

I like Goodman's body of work better, but they are both fine actors.

I think Goodman deserved an Oscar nomination for his portrayal of Walter Sobchak.

Easy John Goodman.

Kevin Bacon is Kevin Bacon. John Goodman is Dan Connor.

Dan Connor's done a lot with his life.

3 Oscar-caliber performances by Bacon.

Murder In The First (1995)

The Woodsman (2004)

Sleepers (1996)

And I meant Barton Fink, not O Brother for his Oscar-worthy roles - edited.

I didn't see the other 2, but you're correct, Sleepers is legit.

To put it another way, Bacon has been comparable to (maybe just behind) Hanks - but just not been in as many Oscar-worthy films.

How do you leave Murder in the First off of Bacon's list?
