In my opinion, OM is a very solid team, but I agree they are not a dominant team or even that close. They may win against the Tigers, but I think this is going to be a hard fought close game.

JBeam, I mean their schedule sets up for them well because most of their tough games are at home. C'mon man, anyone in the west doesn't have an easy schedule. But drawing Vandy and Tenn is ideal.

Their front 7 is not as good as MSU but their secondary is much better. I very very highly doubt they finish atop the SEC defensively when the season is over. It's my opinion based on what I've watched. I could be wrong.

The fact is that they are not a complete team. They have poor special teams and their offense really is not very strong. They are getting the benefit of the SEC west perception.

Would it shock anyone if A&M lost the rest of their games? The rebels aren't sneaking up on anyone the rest of the year since lets just see how they handle that.

Well, the secondary being their weak link does not help us. Our passing game is our weak link.

FFS, we've been over this. Alabama isn't great at putting points on the board (see Arkansas), and that's by far their best win. Tennessee and Vandy are downright pathetic at putting points on the board. A&M certainly seems to be going downhill fast, so holding them to 20 probably isn't anything to write home about either.

First of all, Bama put up 59 against aTm and put up 42 against UF, so at times they have put a lot of points up on the board. The poster said State and Auburn's D was better than Ole Miss' D. State gave up 34 to UAB and 31 to aTm (Ole Miss held aTm to 20).

What was Auburn's big win? K. State? LSU? Neither one is an offensive juggernaut. K. State is a pretty good team, but other than Auburn, they've played teams with no defense. Also, Auburn gave up 21 to Arkansas. Again, Ole Miss has played 7 games and the most they've given up is 20 points. That's really good against anyone. I don't see how the other defenses have been better so far.

The post you are responding to is talking about State's weak link, not Ole Miss. And no, that did not help us.

The Ole Miss weak links are offensive line, rushing offense and special teams, and LSU matches up well there. And while they aren't bad at it, Ole Miss has given up some rushing yards, which works in LSUs favor as well.

This is a really good matchup for LSU as far as games against Top 5 teams go.

Vandy and UT are garbage. Those wins aren't even in the same league as wins over UF and UK.

Really?

I'm with you. I'm not buying it either, I don't think they win they win the west. Let alone get to the playoffs.

Have none of you watched us play this season? If we have an achilles heel on defense it is our interior defensive line. Even there we are very strong.

That seems a bit hyperbolic, but I do think it's harder to beat Kentucky at home than it is to beat Vandy on the road. Similar final scores. Not much separates Florida from Tennessee and Kentucky, except one point in the first case (albeit @Tennessee, where Ole Miss didn't have to go) and three overtimes in the second.

If they beat LSU, I will still consider them unlikely to win the West. I think they'd have trouble beating either Miss. St. or Auburn.

leave it to you to always do your part to spin things as negatively as you can....it's amazing....and yeah, LSU hasn't been blown out at home in several years....it isn't going to happen tomorrow night against Ole Miss.......I think LSU has a great chance to win this game....but even if they don't...it will be close.

Did you refuse to buy the Miss State hype?
Nope, as this was my post prior to that game

But thanks for assuming!
Perhaps you should re-read my post and remove the stick from your arse. I agree that LSU can beat Ole Miss.

My post simply asked a question.

The only person assuming anything is you.

My bad! I misread an earlier post and thought the weak secondary reference was about Ole Miss. Looking forward to a great game on Saturday!

This is exactly my point. They are special to Ole Miss due to Ole Miss' standards. But this team is not special enough to make any noise in SEC title game or playoffs. I think UGA would beat them as well. Ole Miss had a special win, but will not have a special season.

If anyone out of the ordinary looks like they are having a special season it's MSU. Now that team has the "it" factor. You can tell by watching them, and not just from the LSU game earlier. Furthermore, they've beaten OM 3 in a row.

LSU will be a tough game for Ole Miss.

Exactly.

Maybe at season's end they'll have proved it. But based on their resume so far, I'm not buying the hype.

Good Team? yes. NC contenders? Just don't see it.

I highly doubt you came on the rant to ask a yes/no question at face value. Sorry to have provided evidence to back up my answer rather than just typing no.

Since the stick is now out of my arse maybe I'll go stick it in an Ole Miss fan's mouth on the SEC rant.
