This has got to be the worst movie I've ever seen, yet somehow, no matter the fact I've seen it several times, I always continue to watch it. I don't know if there could've been worse actors to star in this 'thriller' and I still have not begun to understand what actually was happening to everyone.

Anyone ever read the book and have some conclusion better than what M. Night came up with?

Ps. when he's having a pep talk with the fake tree, I finally came to realize this movie is a complete joke.

Among the many things wrong with the film, how did the scientist KNOW the length of time for the event?

I don't even understand the point of putting that crap in there.

First, just discerning where the toxin was coming from would have taken much longer than it did, but somehow knowing when the release would stop....... sometimes I just don't know.....

If it was a straight up gruesome death movie like Final Destination, it wouldn't have been so bad if they just added a few more deaths and somewhat realistic human reaction.

I mean, a kid gets blown away and Marky Mark just hangs out next to the dead body. How about you pick yourself up and run like it is the end of times.

I've seen a few worse. I still think it is almost worth a watch just to see Mr. Fun Bunch talking to a fake plant.

Wahlberg talked really weird during that whole movie. It sounded like he was asking a question every line he spoke.

It's actually becoming a point of pride that I saw this in theaters Wahlberg reacting to the batshit crazy old woman was probably sent to every casting call for comedies from that point on. Probably how he landed those gigs in Ted and The Other Guys.

Look at the IMDB site. Last item under the trivia section.

Mark Wahlberg is by far one of my least favorite actors. His look of concern in every scene, in every movie, is so far from genuine that its comedic.

As far as Zooey Deschanel, putting her into any sort of serious role was hard to watch. She should stick to her schtick of quirky comedies.

This movie was by far, cringe-worthy. However, I don't trust myself to change the channel the next time I see it on. Its like a car wreck.

I had to check if M Night crammed himself a muted, sh#tty role into this flick, too. He's only credited with a voice.

He should have been the lawnmower guy.

The Happening doesn't deserve such a bad rap. I've seen it twice, and I was always with Ebert on this one:

Wasn't the intent of the movie to be a modern day "Birds"? Basically an over the top horror movie involving something in our everyday lives turning on us without any kind of explanation?
