You're a moron if you don't understand what a late loss has done historically.
Mississippi State has one quality win against Auburn. They beat a shitty A&M team and LSU who is having a down year. The rest were cupcakes. Their defense is also suspect as they've given up a lot of points. One loss and their balloon is burst.
Mississippi has an impressive win against Alabama and IMO has a better shot to go undefeated if they get past LSU on Saturday but something in my gut tells me that isn't going to happen. Their quarterback is going to shite the bed in a game or two (as ours did in week two) and that will cost them dearly.

a one loss Miss St or Ole Miss gets in if that only loss is in the SEC title game.

A one-loss Mississippi State team would have wins over Auburn, either Ole Miss or Alabama, and Georgia. LSU may end up being a decent win. Can't tell as of now.

Either way, that's three very impressive wins on the resume. Also, either team's loss would likely be to a top ten opponent.
Ohio State would have ONE quality win. That's it. And their loss? It would be at home to an unranked team by two touchdowns.
There is no way a 12-1 SEC champion would be bypassed for an Ohio State team that has one good win all year.

That I agree with. My presumption is that neither teams makes it to the SECCG. If this happens they are going to get passed up by either Sparty, Ohio State, Oregon and certainly FSU or perhaps another team.
Just a viewpoint of course.

Nebraska lost their last regular season game in 2001 and got in the title game.
Oklahoma lost their conference championship game and got in over two one-loss conference champions who lost in October.
Just two years ago, an SEC team lost a game in mid-November and still reached the title game.
For anyone to think that a one-loss SEC champion (whoever it is) will get left out of this playoff is beyond stupid. Especially in favor of a team with a weak arse resume like Ohio State.
ETA: I see now that you aren't implying an SEC champion would be left out. However, I still believe that if an 11-1 SEC West team is left out of the playoff, it probably wouldn't be in favor of a Big Ten team.

You could be right on that although Sparty is positioned very well right now and would probably burst that bubble.
Of course the SEC champion will get in. That's a given considering the track record of the conference champion over the last decade.
Yes, there have been exceptions to the late season loss rule. A couple of them got their asses handed to them as I recall.
