It's been what? 60+ years? They're obviously not going to force "regime change" there. What say you?

The overwhelming majority of Americans are against this dated boycott.

Just goes to show how slow Washington is to change policies, unless it benefits our benevolent leaders.

I got some Cuban Cohibas on my trip to the DR. One of which I fully expect to enjoy after Bama mauls the toothless wonders tomorrow night.

Against - I have been to Cuba and it is an amazing place full of great people. The problem is that their economy is absolute shite so everyone is poor.

You realize that cigars in Cuba are no longer the gold standard in cigars anymore, right? Maybe at one time, but the other countries (dominican republic) make cigars just as good, or better.

Now it's just novelty.

And i don't know. Call me crazy, but it still kind of gets to me when a country tries to nuke us.

There needs to be a regime change simply for the people there.

Against. We should trade with them and help develop their economy through tourism. Hell, I'd consider moving there and open a fishing lodge. Those first to do that will be loaded.

Cuban folks are great people too. Dat food too. Yum.

Cuba isn't high on my list of priorities. But, if it took no time and attention away from other more important issues, I am against.

Too late...lots of Canadian, Japanese and European investment in Cuba...all the boycot has done was kept US investors from getting in the game directly (Americans gonna America so there is no doubt a lot of back door investing by Americans happens). There is already a pretty good sport fishing industry in Cuba and believe it or not even some hunting outfitters...almost all Canadian or German.

Thee fishing in Cuba, like most of the Caribbean (not. Latin America) is not as good one would think....in my opinion the stretch between Cocoa and Key West is as good as there is anywhere, and it is by far less expensive and more accessible. I have been fortunate enough to fish Cuba proper 3 times and the GTMO area for no early 4 years and it is good but not great. For my money the mullet run and January / February off Stuart is the gold standard for sport fishing...and the. Caribbean has noting comparable in my experience.

Cuban cigars are WAAAAYYYYY over rated. One of the reasons is that there is almost no international protection for Cuban trademarks. The vast, vast majority of Cubans sold in resort locations around the world are counterfeit, according to the Cuban Government. Even if they are real they most likely have not been shipped or stored properly. The difference between the Cubans I have smoked in Cuba and those I have smoked I elsewhere is like night and day. I think Cuban cigars are kind of like Coors back when it was hard to get east of the Mississippi....it was the bomb until you could get it anywhere and the you realized it wasn't that great. The Cuban cigar industry has been left in the dust by the rest of the region....even Mexico has a superior product...and Honduras, the DR and Ecuador all produce far superior cigars to Cubans, in my opinion.

This.

Dictatorships can't last when you have a free exchange of ideas and goods. The countries we embargo (Iran, NK, Venezuela, etc) are the very ones we should be expanding trade with. Embargoes are acts of war and accomplish nothing but further isolation.

Cuban cigars are NOT a novelty. Over priced due to embargo and such yes. Have the cuban seeds spread thru the region and produced great cigars? Yes. But a novelty absolutly not. They are wonderful cigars.
