Since rumors are going around that TGBFTL is going to play Neck this weekend, I found a video comparing different Louisiana schools playing it. I don't know how any other college thinks their screeching can compare with the LSU version, STTDB or not.
LINK
(The first two are the only two that really matter in this video)

As a musician, hearing these show style bands (We commonly refer to them as 'Ghetto Bands'), make my blood boil. No musical ability, they use special mouth pieces that make hitting hit pitched (and extremely ear piercing) notes effortless. Yet all these people say "Wow. they band cold. they lyk rlly fiyah."

Certain people think that the louder the music is, the better it sounds...

Southerns sounds like they are constantly on the verge of falling apart. The drumline is dirty....and that is bad in a song where they arent playing much. Screaming with trumpets are a waste of an amazing instrument.

I cant stand it.

Dumbass

BTW, Out of all the schools in that clip, Grambling plays it the best when hearing it in person.

LSU sounds best. I heard Texas Longhorn play Neck at the UT-Baylor game. I wanted to go to the restroom and beat my head on the sink.

The band practiced Neck for the first time all season this week, so it's probably coming.

STTDB without this LSU is best, especially with the fans.

La Tech's version sounded like a high school band.

Grambling's really sounded flat, and, surprisingly had
no soul.

Southern sounded like a bunch of dolphins going through a trash compactor.

LSU wins.

I agree that LSU sounds the best of those 4 clips. However, Southern & Grambling have been playing neck before the current members of TGBFTL were even born.

The video is old and off beat with the performance, but to be perfectly honest the Ghetto bands as you call them sound way better than us at a actually Halftime show... At least they are allowed to play neck..

LSU's arrangement of neck is boring and bland.
