I think that's exactly what cousins needs to succeed, and meanwhile, we get a future QB.

Thoughts?

We won't be looking for a new QB for a few years, barring any major injury setbacks to Brees.

Bingo! He's a good player that just needs mentorship. Right now, you can buy real low and not worry about anyone picking him up while he sits on the team as unrestricted, etc.

As a free agent pickup if he's not commanding too much money I don't see why not really.....Considering his play this year his price should be relatively cheap, maybes something comparable to what Chase Daniel got from KC in the $2-$3M/yr range......It's still hard to invest that kind of money in a backup, but to have one worth a crap when you need it they pay for themselves......But I definitely would not give up any draft picks for him

Drew had an interception rate of 1.8% last season, Cousins was at 4.5%

This year, Drew is at 2.6%, which is his career average, ranked 16th best all-time and tied with P. Manning

Cousins is at 4.4%

I just think he needs the right coach and mentor quarterback and he can be a decent starter one day. Sounds like CSP and Drew
