Scott looked pretty much the same in 2010 when he defeated the very conventional-looking Alex Sink after trailing her in 4 of the last 5 polls before the election. So it's not like Florida voters are new to voting for a guy who looks rather , well, "unusual".
I don't know Rick Scott, but I used to work with Alex Sink at NCNB National Bank of Florida back in the 80's and I can tell you I would have voted for the Elephant Man over her had I still lived there four years ago.
