Doug Collins just now on ESPN talking with Jalen and Sage Steele about possible playoff teams in the West:

quote:

watch out for the Pelicans, they have 6 very good players

Sage Steele interjects and mentions AD

Jalen nods in agreement

Cut to commercial

If he plays really well this year he could get a 10mil/year deal.

I wish we could get him for $10 per year. I'm expecting more like $12, and hopefully the number of viable centers on the market will offset any cap increase craziness.

Chuck was on Open Court just now talking about AD... Said because they haven't broadcasted a Hornet Pelican game in 20 years, he wasn't aware of how good he was until he saw him in person over the summer

Chuck says he's the next NBA superstar

Deke and Reggie said they make the playoffs

So the rockets are basically 50 or more

The one I saw had Pels at 40

So do you like HOU to win more than 49.5 or the Pels to win less than 43.5?

So they just stopped doing the NBA team previews? That really sucks. They left off at 21 with the Pacers. I hope they come back and finish it..

They'll finish is. It will still be going on even though the season had started. Look for pels around 15 and HOU around 6.

You're going under on 43 wins? If this team stays healthy, they'll get that easily.

Yea under 43. Roughly 20% shot at playoffs jmo. Health always plays a factor but the pels ain't better than any of the playoff teams from last year when all are healthy. Suns are better too IMO.

I'll take the over... I say 52 wins. I'll take the Rockets at under 43.

I have a bunch of Rockets fan friends who really respect my opinion and they agree with me that the Pelicans, when fully healthy, are probably better than the Rockets, and it has mostly to do with the fact that the Brow is head and shoulders the best player on the floor.
