Went by there yesterday to grab lunch and had a sign on the door saying they are moving.

More visibility for restaurant goers I'd guess.

I'm a City Café fan. And a Thai Chili fan.

I fell out of love with Thai Chili after being one of their biggest advocates. Shelly was always nice to me and put out some great food and it was a great place to get one of my favorite dishes, pad thai. That dish to me is close to perfect with the comfort of the noodles, the crunch of not only the peanuts but the juicy crunch of the bean sprouts, the sweetness and acidity of the lime and the pop of the shrimp. With that said, often she would be out of limes and replace them with lemon (not a fan), which I didn't understand at all how they could frequently be out of limes since they were right next to a Walmart who sold limes for flock sake. I always ask for the bean sprouts on the side so that they retain optimal crunch because when they get sauteed in with the noodles, the consistency turns noodle like and you can't discern between the two and you miss out on the crunchy joy of the sprouts. One day, I was told that they discontinued the use of bean sprouts altogether, which means they basically turned a traditional pad thai dish into a shrimp and noodle stir fry with chopped peanuts. Adding insult to injury, they continued to feature a 2'x3' color photo of pad thai on their store window, featuring limes and plenty of bean sprouts.

It may sound like I'm being picky, but the harmony and composition of the dish was completely changed. For instance, if I order a cheeseburger, I expect cheese. It may be a very tasty hamburger, but it's not a cheeseburger so please don't call it that. Eventually, I fell out of love with the modified dish. /rant

With that said, they do serve above average food, and definitely qualified as a great hole in the wall sort of place that was little known. Because of that, I tried to steer as much business her way as I could, not only here but with friends as well. I wish her luck at the new location and hopefully it will have more of a restaurant feel to it. I'm sure she was taking a beating with rent at the Walmart strip location.

Rolled by there last night--not open yet. No signage, nothing. There is a nail place up and running and i ASSUME they will slide in next door, since the same setup was used back up Coursey.
