Technology is advancing at an exponential pace. We will see robots capable of at the very least rudimentary "thinking" skills within our lifetime. They will be able to think, learn, and adapt. Sense changes in mood and react. It's possible that they could even become self aware, even with programming to prevent it.

They will be ubiquitous in the not so distant future...hell, they aren't far behind in the present.

So the question is, when they serve us...when they clean our houses and mow our lawns and pick our crops and service us in any way we require...once they have some base "thinking" skills and can adapt...at what point do they become slaves?

And are you okay with robotic slavery?

And what does that say about us as a race?

Are you ok with someone building and selling robotic slaves?

Does the heavier moral burden lie with the seller or buyer?

Totally OK.

Even human slavery is still legal in particular circumstances.

I've been hearing that all my life. It won't happen until there are quantum computers.

The "electric sheep" quote was by Philip K. Dick.

Personally, I'd be fine with two or three pleasure models.

I'm fairly certain that "do androids dream of electric sheep" was an Asimov novel

Do you consider your phone a slave? Always having to tell you what's going on in the world, forced to watch you jerk off.
