Let's not confuse fear with pure hatred. It's not fear so much as a zero tolerance policy towards pests and rodents of any kind in the house....including snakes, chipmunks, squirrels, ants, spiders, bats, birds, mice, cats, mother in law, etc.
I think I speak for most men when I say that we are much more concerned with a human intruder than I am with a snake or mouse.
