We used to hunt with Larry Gore, he usually has a few decent spots. The Katy prairie isn't what it used to be unfortunately.

It's been years, but we went many times at the Pintail Hunting Club. They were all over the El Campo/Eagle Lake area.

We were never disappointed.

Hunted with a few different guides out there. Larry Gore is probably the biggest. Always had good hunts. You can also find several places out there to do unguided hunts if you have the dekes and can call for yourself. Those generally run $40/person.

Pass on anything related to Larry Gore...He isn't well liked in the hunting circles around here.

As stated Eagle Lake isn't what it use to be but you can still have a dang nice hunts in the area.

I know a few people who have used Waterfowl Paradise hunting club and liked them.

He would be a good one to go with as well. He also have a nice lodge down there if you need a place to stay.

We used to goose hunt a lot with Larry gore. Last I heard he was more into leasing land for hunting rather than guiding.

Also heard 4 or 5 years ago rice farmers were growing a different rice and that was causing some of the poor hunting. Could be bullshite, could be true, don't have a clue.

My dad has a hunting camp and duck lease over in Garwood, which is around that same area. I'll ask him and see what he says.

I know him and his buddies on the lease don't speak very highly of Larry Gore though.

Most of the time, hunters who lease land will not speak well of "pro guides". They tend to scoop up a lot of prime land and/or drive lease prices up. They also have other tactics to ruin hunting for others.
