Very prophetic movie. Another prophetic piece of fiction: Atlas Shrugged

Lol that you think this is a recent Obama thing.

That probably means you don't recognize it when it's aimed at you.

Come on man, it's like you're just mailing it in these days

No doubt it's happened before Obama, but he's the President right now and the stinkburger line was just very memorable.

Yes

Edit: If Joe Biden were frozen and came back to life 200 years from now, he'd be the smartest man on the Earth.

This kind of thing has gone on for over 200 years in this country. This is nohing new.

For example - 1840. Appealing to the lowest common denominator with the vernacular of the times -

the lower class as is, cannot function in the modern economy. what do you think they'll be able to do in 2 decades of technological growth?

If the right has their way most of them will starve to death, while the remainder are retained to work the few remaining labor intensive jobs left, at wages that will make today's minimum wage look like a fortune.

It's gone on for much longer, but what can we do about it? Maybe the only proper thing to do would be to cull the undesirables, but then you might be eliminating guys like Norman Borlaug, or GW Carver. Every baby born is probably not a rocket surgeon.

Mike Judge is a genius - maybe not quite as great as his buddies Matt and Trey, but definitely genius.

It's not going to take nearly 500 years.

You post some dumb crap but this is beyond stupid. It is hard to believe that the admins allow you to keep it up on here. Now you know why so many on just downvote anything you post and never even bother to read it. I guess I am just late to that party.

I get your point, but at least there was a little creative effort put into it:

quote:

What's the cause of this commotion, motion, motion,
Our country through?
It is the ball a-rolling on

For Tippecanoe and Tyler too.
For Tippecanoe and Tyler too.
And with them we'll beat little Van, Van, Van,
Van is a used up man.
And with them we'll beat little Van.

Hey, a unique way to reference Harrison's heroism at the battle of Tippecanoe. Not bad

But I could not believe how prophetic this movie has turned out to be.

I know the movie becomes more and more accurate as time goes by like the future vision of Detroit in Robocop.

Actually, if you go back and read microfiched opinion pieces on the editorial pages of 100 years ago the language and logic is aimed at highly educated people.
Much larger vocabulary, much more complicated sentence structure and a lot more abstract thinking than today's writing.

And what exactly is wrong with that?
