I was guessing mid 130's. I tend to undershoot on score though. I was guessing he was right around last years deer by score but as an 8. Hope to be able to ground check and give an update.

He's gonna gross in the 140's at the minimum IMO. Hard to judge mass from these deer cam pics but he looks heavy, has good width and some scorable junk points. Great looking 4.5-5.5 year old probably.

Go get him...

For sake of comparison, this one scored 139 as a 4x4. Keep in mind the whitetail in my pic weighed almost 300lbs. Don't let the body throw you off. Your buck is probably wider and may have more tine length too.

Smoked Hog I can help you make sure he doesn't make it thru that wood line. On a serious note I have been in Jonesboro for about 3 years, and haven't done a lot of hunting in the area. I can't seem to pin down when the "peak" rut takes place, when do you feel is that magical time in NEA.

I think aging on the hoof from a game camera is a crap shoot. Aging from a game camera this early (pre-rut) is almost silly unless you can tell from previous years or something else.

Upper 130's to 140. Very nice deer.

Seems to me the best time the last couple of years has been last week in October through the second week of November. The middle of that three week stretch has been best for me the last two years. I've taken three 8pt or better in the last two years from nov 3-nov 10, this was the biggest. I passed on two bucks during the hour before him.

This tiny guy got dropped because he was dragging a broken leg. Within 30 seconds of shooting him with a ML a MUCH larger buck ran up, created this scrape and then locked horns with him dead for about a minute before he figured it out. Tagged out at that point but leads me to believe that is pretty high rut activity. This was 2 days after I took a 128 inch 8 from the same stand.

Now take it for what its worth I've only been serious for the past three years. A much better hunter than me swears that the big boys come out at the end of November.

I know TL,DR for most

Thanks that is some good info.Every time I ask I get answers that vary from end of October to middle of December. You hunt on the ridge, or in the hills?

Was on the ridge two years ago. Last year was all ag land about 30 minutes west of Jonesboro. This year I'm going to be ag for the big boys and meat hunt over in the hills.
