Whats your confidence in winning if Brees takes the sack instead of the INT?

I keep seeing posts saying Drew lost the game for us yesterday.
Well, I think our defense is about 0 for their last 5 or 6 in situations where we need to stop an opponent from scoring to win the game.
Rob Ryan game 1 last year-Defense preserves win.
Patriots-Loss
Panthers-Loss
This year
Atlanta-Loss
Cleveland-Loss
So Brees taking a shot didn't completely bothering me, I'd prefer if the line could block a little better though)
But to answer my original question, my confidence would have been extremely low.

It didn't bother me either. Drew takes risks, it's part of what makes him great.
Win some lose some. We were right on the cusp in that game on the road against a quality opponent.
All I know is my friends and I were all saying we needed to be aggressive there and throw for the first. At least try to. Then as soon as it happened we all yelled jokingly, run the ball!
We all would have been here complaining about us running the ball either way. Unless, of course, we would have pulled out the win. But I don't know anyone that felt confident in our defense making the stop even after a punt.

An interception like that is deflating.
Sucks for the defense to come out in their own territory.

Them having to go 30-40 yards is easier than them having to go 70-80 yards.
I'll take 70-80 yards > 30-40 yards any day of the week, doesn't matter what defense I have.

Yeah BUT not as much as that 73 yd TD.

Agreed. After that TD the writing was on the wall.

Obviously I'd rather punt than give up an INT, but I wouldn't have felt great about it either way. Defense was gassed after the refs gave them fresh downs on the PI call and they would have had, what 5 minutes rest?

His picks are game changing. They cause drastic momentum changes and collapses in the game. I said it before the game if he doesn't turn the ball over we win. And we were doing pretty good until he started shitting the bed. His turnover aren't even forced by the defense he keeps tossing the ball up for grabs.

It would've given the saints defense better field position and more room to work with.

The D has proven continuously that with the game on the line it wouldn't have mattered.

Sadly true. But giving them such a short field made it almost seem like a guarantee. Fact is, the Saints had plenty of time to get in FG range to win the game, but even the offense is shite. Brees was rattled and the play calling is starting to look more and more pedestrian.

Playcalling was great last week IMO

The long TD was definitely more backbreaking IMO. Even if they did eventually score there, and even if they did make some big plays, there's maybe 2 min left in the game when we get the ball back. One first down and it's over.
Brees' pick was indeed devastating, but I don't think our defense would've stopped them anyway if we punted. At least we were able to have the ball in our hands last to win it.
